★★★★★  “Lara J. West is incredibly talented, her singing beautiful, her character acting very watchable … totally enthralled from beginning to end.” – What’s Good To Go To

★★★★ “Light-hearted, truthful, with an honesty that women will relate to” – West End Best Friend

★★★★ “The highlight is undoubtedly the songs, West’s voice is terrific, the timbre perfectly suited to a smoky subterranean jazz club, rich mellow notes float out over the audience.” – Reviews Hub

A one-woman, two-musician show with 8 original songs.

An old library book, What It Means To Be A Woman, is handed to Georgia on her 16th birthday and becomes the thread connecting 3 women as they journey through their lives.

Georgia, a woman in an unhappy marriage to a brutish man.
Shirley, her long-lost best-friend, now a comedian and club singer in New York.
Maud, Georgia’s mother, the orchestrator of their downfall.

From childhood to motherhood to memories long gone, the book is passed like a melody from hand to hand – revealing choices we make and chances we miss – in this joyous, poignant new musical.

This funny hard-hitting play with a big heart, is a comical insightful journey through womanhood.

With a live band and original score, this one woman show from Lara J. West holds a mirror up to all our faces – those we hide and those we share – celebrating the woman in us all.

One Kiss premiered at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry in July 2022 and received universal, critical acclaim.

We are delighted to bring our new musical to the Other Palace for one-night-only before we rock-up to the Edinburgh Fringe for a month in August.

★★★★ “The music was hauntingly beautiful … engrossing, authentic and entertaining.” – Elementary What’s On

★★★★ “A moving exploration of womanhood that resonated totally.”
