The second in our 2018 Studio Thursday Jazz Series
Horace Silver was one of the all time jazz greats. He described his hard driving piano style and original composition approach as “meaningful simplicity”. Silver created some of the most enduring tunes in jazz such as “The Preacher”, “Blowin’ the Blues Away”, “Señor Blues” & “Song for my Father” and many others, while performing them in his distinctively personal “hard bop” blues and gospel style.
After sell out success in the London Jazz Festival in 2015 with the music of Miles Davis and in 2017 with The Blue Note Years, Chris Ingham returns to The Other Palace with his hard driving REBOP ensemble, evoking the style of Horace Silver’s music, adding their own imaginative creativity and improvisations.
“Rebop are one of the best bands in the U.K.”
