Looking For Gatsby

Inspired by F Scott Fitzgerald’s THE GREAT GATSBY
Presented as part of The Other Palace’s new musical workshop sharings.

1928 New York
A woman walks into a derelict Speakeasy - she says she is
She has something to tell him...

Picking up where F Scott Fitzgerald’s novel 'The Great Gatsby' ended, Jay Gatsby’s lover, Daisy, needs to confront the past in order to move on. She now has the chance to fully address the issues that have always been glossed over.

In Gatsby’s ‘Speakeasy’, F Scott Fitzgerald’s fantastical characters play out the drama, the wry humour and the tragedy of the fast-vanishing Jazz Age.
What secrets are stirred as Daisy is forced to confront the past she’s been trying to escape?
Featuring an original score, mixing electro-swing with 1920s Jazz, this new musical is presented as a work in progress at The Other Palace. A fresh take on “The Great Gatsby”, delving into scenes that Fitzgerald never revealed.
